As part of our effort towards self sustainability we offer the following services to the General Public, the Business Community, Organisations, Local and Central Government.
Access Consultancy Service:
Galway Centre for Indepandent Living privides this service exclusively for making business premises accessible to the disabed community. This is an opportunity for you to have yur premises disability proofed to assess if it is in accordance with recent and upcoming legislation i.e. Building Regulation, Equal Status Act, etc.
Accessible Transport Service:
At present we provide a subsidized service, which is supported financially by other profit making activities. We are also in partnership with th only fully accessible taxi service in Galway City where a 20% discount can be made to GCIL members.
Audio duplication & Braille Service:
This is a unique service offered to individuals organisations & businesses who require standard text produced either in audio, braille or both.
Computer Suite:
Our Suite is the only fully accessible Computer Suite in the West of Ireland, containing up to date Assistive Technology in both Software and Hardware.
Personal Assistant Service:
Galway Centre for Independent Living is resolute in the knowledge that access to a Personal Assistant Service is the corner stone to achieving Independent Living, at present we provide Personal Assistant Services through funding from Western Health Board. FAS Community Employment Scheme and FAS Job Initiative Scheme.
