Accessible Computer Suite
Using computers now forms an integral part of our everyday lives, at work or at home, sending e-mails, writing letters or reports or simply surfing the internet. Most computers come with standard hardware and software but for some people with a disability the standard options are not suitable.
Galway Centre for Independent Living has a computer suite that is fully accessible to people with disabilities at our office on the Tuam Road, enabling individuals to take part in computer training. The suite is equipped with height adjustable tables. We also have a range of assistive technologies to meet individual requirements. There are 10 computers in the suite, which are networked and have full internet access.
The suite can be hired out by groups or individuals who wish to run their own training classes. We also offer a range of classes that are available to members of the community. The suite is available for hire six days a week from 10am to 9pm. Arrangements can be made for individuals who wish to use the suite for practice during office hours.
